About the event
Excited about a new project and want to chat about it? Or are you feeling stuck with your creative practice?
Our monthly Craft Crits are an opportunity to talk about your work and process with a small group of likeminded creatives, replicating the format of an art school group critique, where each person is asked to share their current project and the group is then invited to respond with feedback.
Working as an artist or maker, we often find ourselves spending a lot of time alone and in need of the community and productive environment of a shared workspace. These sessions will offer a new way to create those connections and support each other in our creative practices.
Whether you are taking on a new project you want to talk through, experiencing a creative block or just want to chat all things craft, these 2 hour sessions are run in small groups so everyone has the opportunity to discuss a piece, project or concept and get a bit of collective feedback on where to go next. Come for just one session or make it a regular part of your practice.
Each session will be gently led by Chloe + Rachael of Craft Show who together have years of experience in the crafts industry and arts education. Hosted at their new studio space in the Isle of Dogs, these Craft Crits allow the community we have grown during our exhibitions (which have been lovingly described as speed dating for makers) to continue the year round, in a casual, friendly environment.
